Send Them Off Into The World....

Today is the day... today is the day I send this one off into the world.

Am I speaking of one of my children?

No.

I am speaking of one of my finished quilts. :D  My oldest called and said that his lovely wife had looked at the pictures of the Log Cabin Heart and the other one that I'm working on and she had seen the bowtie quilt that is also in my UFO pile and she loved the LCH one the best, so I will be taking it over to their house sometime today.

At least I know it is going to a good home... where it will be cherished.

Do you ever feel this way when gifting a quilt you've spent your love, sweat and time on?  Like it is a living entity and you must part with it, forever more?  Am I being overly dramatic?  :D  This is somewhat tongue in cheek, though I do at times really love the things I give away and wish I'd made two, or bought more of the fabric so I could make one similar for myself.  This is one of those quilts.

Knowing it will be keeping my son and his lovely wife warm makes it all worth it. :)

I was a lazy girl yesterday and didn't get anything done, and today is looking much the same as hubby and I are planning to run all over creation and back.  Hopefully I'll accomplish something tomorrow, and if not, there is always Monday.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

What a beautiful quilt. It is wonderful that your son and daughter in law want one of your babies! It's always hard to let them go, but when they are going to a loving home, it's a little bit easier. I think every quilter feels the same way.

Beautiful quilt. I love log cabins. I too have a hard time giving some of my quilts away. That is why I always take a picture of the quilt with its new owner.
