WIP Wednesday

This Wednesday I'm working on several things at once.  I get this way when my sewing becomes "Make Money With It".  I get very scattered because I don't want to 'sew for dough'.  I sew for fun!

So basically today I am working mostly on one thing, wishing I was doing the quilting on another thing, have another quilt top half done and I have 3 more things cut out.  Only one of those things (the quilting project) is on my UFO to WIP list!

Basically I gave up and came in here to write a blog post and I have decided that I probably won't finish anything to sell since all of the things I cut out and started are things I would rather keep or gift.  It is just much easier for me if I get a specific order for something to make it and then collect my earnings as I turn over the goods.  Trying to make things to list on Etsy or EBay is just to hard.  What if no one likes it?  It is just so much easier if I have guidelines provided by the person who is ending up with the item to begin with.  Is that odd?

I'm linking up over at Freshly Pieced.
So here are my WIP pictures:

4 Patch in progress

A picture of the top of the WIP basket....

There you have it!

Hopefully I can get the 4 patch top done late tonight or tomorrow sometime then we shall see where it takes me. :D

Hi Samatha,
I totally understand about sewing for selling...how it takes all the fun out of it! It is amazing how it almost sucks the life out of it. BUT, I think you have to keep your eyes on the sewing, and just think of it being loved and cherished by someone else that probably can't sew~ They will appreciate it because it will be precious to them! ♥♥♥

I totally know how you feel. My sweetie keeps asking me why I don't sell my quilts. I'm so afraid of quilting becoming a "job" for me and no longer something I do to relax.

I haven't tried making anything to sell, but I think it would be hard because the whole time I would be worried that no one would want it anyway, & I'd have just wasted all that time & fabric that I could have invested in something important to me.

your four patches are great!
