Giveaway & Stuff!

Okay.. so here I am, finally posting my giveaway for 150 followers!  I wasn't sure what to giveaway.  My daughter offered up a couple of her beaded bracelets, and I went through my fabric stacks and pulled some "scraps" that are to big for my scrap bin, so pretty nice sized ones.

Before I show you the pictures though I think I'll tell you a bit about my last few days.

I've been doing some "must" sewing.  You know what that is right?  You "must" fulfill your bee/swap/round robin obligations so you "must" sew.  I have my Stash Bee blocks started and a couple of them done but I can't get my points to converge following the tutorial but I decided I was making a dozen of them, some for Danny and some for me so I then came up with my own way to do them, and I still can't get my points to converge but I find I sort of like the way they look without them being perfect.  I'll try and sew the next ones with perfect points so Danny can have them.  The done ones, untrimmed.

I jut cut out a dozen, 13 inch squares, stacked them and then cut them into 12 pieces then layed them out into blocks and started putting them together.  Not sure how I'll make the points work, maybe sew each half from the middle instead of one side to the other?  I'm sure I'll figure it out, I usually do.

The "official" situation is a permitting thing and it is about halfway resolved.  Hubby will go tomorrow morning to the county offices to find out how much money they are going to extort from us and what other hoops we will have to jump through.

Then yesterday my washing machine broke to the tune of around $90 if hubby can find the part to fix it.  I would rather do anything than do the 20 mile round trip to the laundromat so I'm hoping he can also resolve that tomorrow.  After all of that our savings account will be pretty much wiped out, but like I always tell hubby.... "It's just money, we can get more." :D  He usually rolls his eyes at me when I say that. :D

Okay, enough about me.. let us now talk about you!  My great followers!  Some of the fabric I pulled is newer, some is older, some I know exactly where it came from, some I don't.  I hope if you win, anything you don't like you will donate to a charity that makes quilts instead of tossing it.  I tried to put in a lot of different stuff so there will be something for everyone.

The bracelets are my daughter's main hobby.  She has about 30 made and when we wear them if someone sees them and likes them, if they are a friend she will give it to them right then and there and if they are someone she doesn't know, depending on the width of the bracelet they go for $5 on up.  She also makes wonderful custom hat bands.  The thing is with seedbeads that you have to use a beading thread, not wire so they aren't really for everyday wear.  I have one that I wear all the time except to sleep and shower or if I am doing really manual type labor and she has to restitch the clasp on it about once every 2 months or so.  You have been warned. :D

Wow, this turned into a really long post!  So the goodies: The bracelets are 7 1/2 inches.

Since this is a follower giveaway you must be an EXISTING follower.  I love NEW followers and if you become one before the 200 follower giveaway you will get to be part of that one.  As an EXISTING follower all you need to do is leave me any sort of comment that you would like and you will be entered to win both the bracelets and the fabric scraps.

I'll draw this sometime on Saturday the 15th. :D  Good luck!

Love those bracelets! Often had my children weave a bracelet with their friends during birthday parties when they were younger. Always hated to put the clasp on, and some of them (from my own kids, not their friends..) are still in my sewing room, waiting to be finished with the clasps..... Thanks for the giveaway.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about the washing machine...what a huge pita. It makes me so angry how much it was to get ours fixed recently, to the tune of $120. The part itself was like $19, but I don't have the aptitude to fix it. Hope your hubby has the touch! I am an old follower...35 today in fact! He he.

Sending positive thoughts your way for both the permit resolution and finding the needed part for your washing machine. I give thanks for my machines every time I do laundry, laundromats are not fun. Thanks for the chance at some fabric scraps, I am slowing collecting them for several projects on my wish list.

It IS only money, and you can get more! I say the same sometimes. Things do have a way of working out; I hope yours work out sooner than later! :)

Hope your washer gets fixed quickly. That is one of the worst appliances to go. We really depend on those machines. I love the bracelets. My kids made them and they were always so pretty. I love all the color combinations. Love the fabric too.
