Blogger's Quilt Festival

Amy's Creative Side

So I decided to add my quilt to the Fall session of Blogger's Quilt Festival just because everytime I have this quilt on my bed and I go into my bedroom I smile, lay down on it and tell hubby (if he happens to be in there) "I just really LOVE this quilt."
The quilt I'm talking about is Bowtie Deux.

I am so proud of the quilting that I did on this quilt.  It just seemed like everything came together perfectly.  The choice for quilting thread, the way the blocks looked, even my borders worked perfectly even though I was determined not to buy anything to finish it and worked strictly from my stash.  That NEVER happens, usually I have to buy at least a yard of something that will work for borders or for the back.... but even the back was made from stash fabric.

The quilting was all done by me, free motion on my Pfaff Ambition 1.5 or as I like to call her 'Violet'.

The Particulars:
Quilt Measurements: 79.5 inches by 71.5 inches.  Basically twin sized but I use it as a 'counterpane' on my queen bed and it works as a decorative second quilt for when it is really cold.
No special techniques were used unless FMQ is counted as a special technique and this was quilted by me.
I think it best fits the Bed Quilt category.
The bowties blocks I bought on eBay literally years ago, like more than 7 or 8 years ago.  I had to assemble them but they were already cut so that saved me some time and I think I got enough precut bowties for at least 3 quilts.  This was the second quilt that I made from them.
I am enjoying visiting all the other blogs and seeing all the pretties!  Hope you like my quilt.

What a fun quilt. I love all the borders. The work together perfectly! I'm also impressed that the fabric you chose for the back seems to be printed to order to correspond with the bow ties on the front. Amazing!

Love the black with the clear brights. Sort of Amish with print fabric. Wonderful quilt.
