Le Sigh.....

I was making good progress on one of the commission quilts when.. my sewing machine completely stopped working.  Nothing I try will make it sew.  I am SO done with this stupid Pfaff.

When I take it in (YET again) tomorrow I am going to insist they replace it with something of equal value that is NOT a Pfaff.  I should not have this many issues with a machine that cost that much.  I have to really psych myself up because I am not a forceful, assertive person but I am going to have to be since I've already had the run around so many times with this stupid machine.

Now I need to just sit and vegitate and maybe watch a couple of old musicals to make myself feel better.

I took my Bernina in a year or so ago for its annual service. They called that it was ready so I picked it up. My parent's were visiting, so I didn't touch it for over a week. Finally I set it back up in its spot and went to use it. Nothing. Curses! I double checked the cords, etc. I tried again. I could hear the motor but the foot wouldn't work. I was hot! It took that shop several weeks to service it and the last thing I wanted was to wait again. I packed it up. I'm also not assertive, but man, I was hot! I take it in the shop and start exclaiming that the machine isn't working and it had just been there. The lady tries it--the motor hums but the foot doesn't work--just like it was doing at home. Then she looks at it. On the Bernina, there is a peg-thing that the bobbin sits on while winding. You flick it over to wind the bobbin and that stops the foot from going up and down. It was flicked over! She flicked it back and the machine worked fine. I was so embarrassed! Get assertive, though. If I can do it, you can!

I have also have trouble being "foreceful and assertive" :) so I will keep my fingers crossed for you. You deserve a machine that does exactly what it's supposed to so stand firm!!!

Sometimes I think the expensive machines are over-rated. I'd rather have something that wasn't so darn fussy.
