So this happened....

Well.....

Deep subject, but I digress.  I've always wanted to say that, "I digress..."

I went back to work full time, as I've already shared here.  That means very little sewing time, virtually none lately, really.  I have however put my sewing area in order today, and I have the goal of finishing things.  So many things.  Now that things are neatened up (is neatened a word?) I have promised myself that I am going to come home from work each day and then spend at least an hour sewing.

I have forgotten how it relaxes me and allows me to let my mind rest.  What has prompted this sudden desire to get my hands back to work with needle and thread?

This happened.  A few months ago I got an email asking me if I'd like to contribute to an article in Quilter's Newsletter about pricing quilts.  At that time I was trying very hard to make "a living" making quilts.  It wasn't working out well, hence why I went back to full time working outside the home.  Anyway... the article is in the Quilter's Newsletter now!

Everyone laughs at me when I tell them it was one of my life goals to have my name in a quilting magazine, and it not be a letter to the editor!  Well it was a goal, and  now I've been quoted in a quilting article so that goal is complete, and I am happy!!

For the rest of today, Bee Blocks for Stash Bee and then working on the memory quilt which is the project I've been puttering on little by little.  My goal is to get it done by end of August and I'm sure it is doable as long as I stick to my plan.  For my own mental health I really NEED to sew, as I've learned in this last week.

I have learned that it is hard to make a Bee block when you bought all of the fabric you needed except for the MAIN one, the background!  Hopefully I will get that done tomorrow.. but for today I worked on Dana's cubicle quilt and the memory quilt.  Pictures sometime this next week. :)

Yeah it is great to see you back blogging again. I saw that info about the article and I'm looking forward to reading it if I can find a copy somewhere.

Congrats!! And if I didn't already tell you, I feel your pain on going back to work. It's tough to work full time at something else when your heart is in the sewing room. :)
