Some Actual Progress

I was in the sewing area all day yesterday.  It's starting to look like a quilt!  You can see that my Geese idea is coming together and I think this is going to be better than I thought!  I think I'll quilt yellow feathers in the black sashing and then my usual geometrics on the Goose blocks.

I'll probably go one block wider, the blocks are 12.5 unfinished and then either 4 blocks or maybe 5 blocks long... I'll have to wait and see how it fits on my Queen bed before I decide where to stop with the crazy blocks and start with borders.  I'm so excited to see it finished now that it's starting to look like a quilt!

Quilt as you go is a bit of a pain now that I've discovered the joys of free motion quilting but there are so many different types of fabrics and so much stabilizer in this that I thought the quilt as you go option was the best for making it retain a nice square/rectangle shape.

Today I wasn't feeling good so we skipped our morning meeting.  So when I finally dragged myself out of bed at around 10 I got a hot drink and came out and started cutting more of these since I will need them for the rest of the center and then for the border I have planned.  Gotta hit the fabric store on my way home tomorrow for more stabilizer since I just used the last of it on that shirt sleeve!
