W.I.P. Wednesday

I spent the last 5 days making borders for the two Mystery Mini Round Robins that still had waiting on my additions so not much progress on the Bow Tie Oh Why quilt.  I just named it that because as I was working on it a bit ago I was wondering why I decided to use all of these uneven blocks to go ahead and make a quilt.

Hubby came out and looked at it and said "that looks very old fashioned" which just made me smile since that was the whole point when I started this quilt.

I'm linking up at freshly pieced!

The downside to owning an Akita.... they have 4 shed cycles per year.  About 4 days ago our Shiina started having hair fall off of her everytime she moved.  During her shed cycles I usually vaccum about 4 times a day.  Last night I gave her her first good brushing for this cycle.  Pictured below is the last of 3 piles of hair that I got off of her, and she's ready to be brushed again.  About 4 days of brushing should get all the hair off.  When I started brushing my daughter was chuckling.  I asked her what was so funny?  She said that Shiina has T.A.R.D.I.S like abilities only it is her hair that is bigger once it's off of her!

I hate when she sheds! Otherwise she is the best dog ever!

Now I realise that you don't need a new craft obsession but have you thought about saving the hair and needle felting it. There are loads of tutorials for making a needle felted dog.
Just a thought. And it is a really lovely thing to have in the house after your pet has passed. I have a little needle felted rabbit with some of my sweet boys hair in it. It is one of those things that I would grab in a fire etc.
I love your quilt too, the hearts are wonderful.

I love that your hubby complimented your quilt work! My hubby does that for me, which is so encouraging!

My son and DIL have an Akita. They also have the hair of two long haired cats! They also have a big house, so it is lots of work to keep up with vaccuming! Good luck~! ♥♥♥
